That’s Hot Is It?

I came across a couple of articles last weekend that stopped me in my tracks and made me raise my eyebrows.

I was scouring the pages of the UK’s Sun newspaper for the soccer reports (honest Guv). The Sun newspaper is unbelievable, not in the sense that it’s awesome but because it’s well, unbelievable. You couldn’t trust a word it says and has some crazy headlines and stories.

The two stories in Question:

That’s hot is it? 19C heat? Scorcher, rocket to 23C? They’re a funny lot those Poms!

Translation: flip flops are thongs in Australia.

Running wise I’m still sticking to the plan although last Thursday’s 4 x 30 second sprint intervals (2k warm up and down) were a bit weak – felt like I cheated.

Today I headed out for a 6K run in the middle of the day and I decided to wear skins as it was very cold this morning. However lunch time the temperature had risen to near on 20C. Needless to say I felt very uncomfortable and I even contemplated stopping and taking the skins off, but where was I going keep them? hold them in my hands, in my pocket, down my shorts? So I did nothing and suffered the whole way.

On the soccer front, West Ham are safe for another season in the premier league; a top 10 finish is likely and is commendable. Kept that quiet for at least 8 months!
