Today’s post, aside from the 11k uneventful run is a plug for an irish pub/restaurant, but I’ll get the boring bits out first!
Missed yesterday’s easy 5k due to a cardio boxing class and a self defence ( my computer tells me it’s “defenSe” -doh) class. Up at 5:00am on a Sunday morning would seem crazy to most, but being a little bit strange I like the early mornings and headed out for a 11k – nothing much to report apart from I seem to be running at a consistently slower pace than my last training program.
Back to “The Quiet Man” – it’s an Irish pub/restaurant in Flemington which we tried a couple of weeks ago, without booking and were politely turned away. So we booked in advance and invited Chelle’s parents.
I’m here to tell you that if you’ve never been here, you’re missing out -big time.
The service is excellent, the atmosphere warm, the food is plentiful, beautifully cooked and the menu is wide and varied. The “Muster Mushrooms” in batter, half dozen oysters and the “Potato Skins” as entrees to share were divine.
All up we had 2 chicken parmas, a basa, a fishermans pie and two calamaris for the boys as main meals , add 6 alcoholic drinks and a jug of squash and you get change from $150. The most expensive meal on the menu is $16:00 and the kids menu is $7.95 which includes Calamari, nuggets, fish n chips and bangers and mash.
Just brilliant – I can’t recommend this place enough
